From the INTO THE ARCTIC Project
With open waters too rough to explore, Sam and Jayko pointed the bow toward calmer waters at the back of the bay. Guns in hand, they led the way crossing sand and stream in a land of innumerable Arctic peaks. Spilling out from a pair of glaciers, a river split into a myriad of sky-reflecting ribbons. I took out my easel.
Hours later we returned to camp with a new painting in tow and fresh polar bear tracks to welcome us back.
