9″ × 10.5″, oil on linen (2010) Walker Arm, Baffin Island, Nunavut, Canada
From the INTO THE ARCTIC Project
With the final days on Baffin Island winding down, both Sam and Jayko mentioned a waterfall not far from camp. It sounded like the perfect place to explore on an overcast day. I hiked above it to see where the water flowed from, eventually settling at this vantage point where I could take it all in. As I painted the rust-coloured tundra, I was reminded that summer was coming to an end, and so too was this month-long Arctic journey.
