A morning hike through a Caledon valley nearby led me to this really interesting old tree. I know many would have walked past it and considered it to just be dead wood, but the shapes formed by the hanging branches set off the lushness of the scene behind it. I also loved the textures found in the bark as it clung here and there. Topping off this morning were two doe that came by to investigate. They came in through the mist as I painted, and silently stood by.
